Believe me when I say that buying a diaper bag is a big decision. This is true especially since this is something you will be carrying around for the next couple of years or more.

You want a bag that is easy to clean both inside and out. Spilled milk and potty are two very good reasons for this.

If you choose to go with an over the shoulder model you want to make sure there is a nice thick shoulder pad to keep the strap from digging into your shoulders.

Look for a diaper bag that has lots of pockets inside and out for maximum storage. This is also a very nice feature in that it helps keep you organized. Believe me it really sucks having to dig to the bottom of the bag to try and find something.

Zippers or flaps is another thing to consider. I really like our diaper bag with the flap because we can cram it full of stuff and don’t need to worry about it not zipping shut. But on the flip side it allows us to cram the bag full of stuff.

There are multiple styles available. There are totes, backpack diaper bags, and messenger diaper bags. Our diaper bag is the messenger style. The great thing about this is that everything is quickly accessible. Snot bubbles are quickly thwarted with boogie wipes because I just reach into the bag and grab one. But, when we’re out for a while and doing lots of walking then I prefer the backpack style.

As far as colors for a boys diaper bag I would recommend something with more masculine colors such as black, gray, brown, dark green, blue or that have prints that represent boys. Obviously stay ay from animal prints, paisley, polka dots etc.

And finally you really need to consider size. There is going to be a whole lot of stuff crammed in there. Diapers, wipes, change of clothes, sippy cups, snack cups, ointment, changing pad, stuffed animals, other toys, Vaseline, teething tablets, diaper disposal bags and nose wipes, just to name a few. But hey, you may be one of those parents that could get everything to fit into ziplock bag. In which case I hate you.
